Happiest Place!

My sister, Kristel, is in town with her two boys and yesterday was their first trip to Disneyland!!! Parker and Kody LOVED it!!!! Their eyes were like saucers the entire day! It was the absolute perfect day for Disneyland...sunny but cool and the crowd was not bad. I think it's neat being with someone for their first Disneyland trip. The excitement over everything that the boys showed made the whole day that much more fun! These pictures don't capture half of the fun that the day was!

We love Disneyland! Most of all....we love sharing it with our nieces and nephews!!! A couple weeks ago we took Vander in the morning and had a blast! He is at such a fun age to be at Disneyland!!! We hit a great day at Dland because nobody was there....so we walked up to all the rides!!! Thanks to the Winnie the Pooh ride, the saying "Wake up Pooh, Wake up!" is now said at least everyday....and I mean from Trav :) Vander showed his skills at Buzz Lightyear and on Dumbo, he only want to be up high!!! I tried talking him into staying low due to my fear of heights but he is a little daredevil so I just held on a little tighter! :) I just love how Disneyland is so much fun whether you are 2 or 92!!!!

Meet Me in St.Louis !

When my sister, Leanna, called to tell me that Savannah was having surgery on her eye, my first thought was...."I need to come to St.Louis!" Well, it ended up working out and at the beginning of September I headed to STL for a week long visit with with Butterfields! Coincidently, I was there the exact same week I was last year when Trav surprised me with a proposal. Hmmm, maybe this will be a yearly Sept trip! Anyways, it was a fun week with the kids...and Savi's surgery went great...although she was pretty loopy after the anesthesia and morphine! I had a great time seeing their school, meeting their friends, going to soccer games, chapel, and being in their home! It was a really fun week and I can't wait to go back...but with my husband next time!!!

Trip to Arizona!

The weekend of September 20, Trav and I headed out to AZ for Parker's 3rd birthday!!! We stayed with my sister Kristel on Fri and Sat night where she showed us the sights of downtown Scottsdale! Saturday was Parker's party at Chuckie Cheese....one of our favorite places! Parker had a Bob the Builder party and it was so much fun seeing him so excited about everything! On Sunday, we drove down to Gilbert, AZ where my sister Lyndsay lives with her husband, Ryan, and their two girls, Lexi and Tessa. We went to church and out to lunch at CPK with them. Lexi and Tessa were really excited to show us Wii and play the bowling game! It wasn't so fun though when my 7 and 4 year old nieces beat me at it!!! It was a great weekend trip!!!

So...I am a little late getting this up!!!! I just uploaded all my pictures from August to now ! Yikes! Two weeks after our wedding, my friend Brittney from nursing school married her high school sweetheart!!! Dustin ( her hubby ) and Trav get along as if they have been friends for years!!! Their wedding was BEAUTIFUL!!! It was in Laguna Village, right on a clift overlooking the ocean! The sunset was gorgeous as it streaked the sky with pastel colors during the wedding. Brit and Dustin live in La Quinta, so we miss seeing them!!! But there is good news!!!! Dustin is looking into the Anaheim Police Academy and in June, they will most likely be moving back to the Orange County area!!! Yay!!!! Trav and Dustin can share their policemen stories once they are their academies while Brittney and I talk nursing talk! Here are a few pics from their wedding!!!

When it Rains...It Pours

Have you ever felt that way?? Something little happens and before you know it, everything around you is being turned upside down. God works in mysterious ways and He never lets us get relaxed in our faith...instead, He continually places challenges in our lives to make us stronger and draw us closer to Him.

Trav and I have been married 2 whole months now...can you believe it's already been that long?!?! However, in those 2 months God has really been working in our lives and challenging us to rely on him completely. The real world somewhat shocked us. While we knew that we would have bills and rent, we never realized how everything adds up! From gas to groceries to electricity to school loans and rent and so much more, we were feeling overwhelmed! it's shown us how much our parents sacrificed for us and I even found myself calling my parents one night after grocery shopping to say thanks for always having food at home.

But aside from financial challenges, we have both been faced with other stresses. From my schooling to his job searching, we are growing closer to each other and our faith is growing together beyond what we ever could have imagined. As Trav begins pursuing a new career path, I couldn't help but feel anxious and worried. After talking to my sister yesterday I felt a new sense of peace. She was sharing with me what their study was on in Bible Study that day and it happened to apply perfectly to what I was feeling. She told me how God frowns on worrying because it means we are not putting our trust in Him. How true is that? So, my new philosophy with everything that is going on right now...Good-bye worry, Hello trust!!! :-)

One last tangent ( I tend to go on those, sorry. This is probably the most random blog but sometimes, you just need to write.) is a song that popped in my head yesterday. Yesterday was an all around bad day and I kept finding myself saying, "When it Rains, It Pours." Well, my kids choir sang a song last year and the true meaning behind the words didn't jump out at me till I was humming the song yesterday. They are:

"Whether is rains, Whether it pours
Wherever I go , I will trust you Lord
In the light of day, or in the dark of night
I will trust you Lord with all my heart."

So, bring on the rain Lord...I'm ready to trust :-)
