Dominican Republic!

A Honeymoon in paradise it was!!!! We were wiped out from the wedding and it was so nice to be able to just relax...no school work, no jobs, no planning.....just pure sunshine and relaxation! We had a GREAT time! Our days were filled with swimming, kayaking, napping, tanning, eating cone after cone of ice cream from the self serve machine, snorkeling, listening to all the accents around us, avoiding the topless moms at the beach, enjoying the warm ocean water, and so much more! It was the perfect vacation! We have a bunch of pictures but here are a few to give you a little picture of our trip!

Moving On Out...

It's funny how God works. Since the spring, Trav and I have been trying to figure out where we would live after the wedding. We tossed around the apartment idea...but quickly exed that due to rent prices. Then the idea of renting a house sounded great and the search began. We found a couple but it was too far out to go ahead and go for it. We than decided we would bounce back and forth between family after the wedding until we found something. We were looking so hard for the perfect place that we didn't realize when you look so hard for something and try to figure it out yourself, God puts something amazing in front of you that had been right under your nose all along. Well, he did that with RainTree! It was right under our nose ( or a hop, skip, and a jump away from Trav's house) all along!

The Saturday before our wedding, Trav's mom and Katie were out with Van and stumbled across a "For Rent" sign at the complex near there house. They decided to take a walk thru and grab some info...only to find it was a steller deal and a great place. Trav quick went and checked it out to find he really liked it too. That afternoon, on my way to our friends wedding, I stopped by RainTree with Katie and got a tour as well. I loved it! I was already picturing how our stuff would look inside...and the walk-in closet definetly sealed the deal. When we left, the papers were signed and the move in date set!

We officially moved in on Sunday, August 10. After the Honeymoon, Heidi and Dan were so gracious and let us live with them till we moved in! They set up the cutest room for us, filled with pictures from the wedding. And, it was fun waking up to little Van Man everyday! Now, that we are moved in, it's fun playing house! We cooked Hamburger Helper on our first night and slept in our sleeping bags on the floor in our room. (our bed is being delivered tomorrow). It's been such a fun adventure....and learning how to live with a roommate of the opposite gender! We are so thankful for how God placed RainTree in our lives ( and budget!!!) We can't wait to get everything set up and have everyone over!!!!

Our Wedding Day!!!

I have dreamed about my wedding day since I was a little girl! I played MASH in Junior High to find out who I would marry and where I would live. In High School, my friend Sara and I would sit and talk for hours about what our weddings would be like. But with my life long planning and dreaming, I never would have imagined the day would turn out like it did...perfect! I woke up on July 20 ( early of course! I don't even know how I fell asleep the night before!) to a loud rumbling noise. Of course, I think it's like 90 airplanes flying over the hotel. But than a thought runs through my mind: thunder. No way. It's July in Palm Springs, there can't be thunder. I jumped out of bed and opened the curtain and sure enough, the sky was black! My parents called me right than and my mom and I both laughed! Is it really raining in the desert!?!? We had planned for the unbearable heat but not once did we think of rain! It didn't matter though. It was our wedding day and it could have been a blizzard but nothing would have taken away the joy of that day.

It was a jammed pack day....well, for the girls that was. We made a Starbucks run and started the line-up to get all of our hair done. We ran back and forth to rooms getting everything ready. My brain was mush but my amazing friends stepped in and remembered everything that I couldn't. My nerves started kicking in when I was getting my hair done. Shauna and my sister, Leanna, spooned fed me a chicken salad and a smoothie. I love both of those but today I couldn't even choke them down! I was too nervous and I just wanted to see Trav. ( we didn't see each other till I walked down the aisle) Trav on the other hand slept in and decided to go to the gym with his guys for a wedding day work out! They than headed out to Panda Express for some lunch. However, when they got back they realized that the air broke in their rooms so they had to pack up and move to new rooms. By now the rain had clear and there were a few clouds in the sky, but to me, the weather was perfect.

We all got ready at the church and took some pictures before. The ceremony was beautiful. Absolutely everything I had ever imagined and more! My sister Lyndsay sang a gorgeous song. My friends Matt and Lindsey teamed up for an awesome duet. While Trav and I forgot everything we had practiced the day before, it didn't matter. I couldn't take my eyes off of him...he looked so handsome in his tux!!! And I couldn't stop smiling! I remembered being scared I would bawl my eyes out but I was so happy to begin our lives together, my cheeks were hurting from smiling.

The bridal party rode a bus to the reception...yes, a bus. When we pulled up apparently guests were joking about the bridal party being on the bus...and than we all got off it!!! Our grand entrance was fun...Trav talked me into doing his signature dance move. My dad spoke...and called me his "legally blonde" and advised Trav and I to settle our disputes on the free throw line. Trav's Grandpa blessed the meal and gave us beautiful words of advice. The toasts began...Trent making us laugh and my sisters making me cry! Than the reception kicked off and it was so fun!!! Everyone was on the dance floor and we had such a fun time with everyone! It was the dream wedding for Travis and I! When we left, they drove us around the Westin to look at all the lit up Palm Trees and waterfalls! It was gorgeous! Here are a few pictures from our big day. We have thousands....yes, thousands...more! If you want to view a few professional ones...go to eweddingshow.com and find the Kahler/Hardeman wedding. We wanted pictures that captured moments and our photographer ( who shoots for Sports Illustrated) caught amazing moments! Trav and I aren't a big fan of the posed, still shots and our photographer took (and gave us) 5 dvds with a thousand pictures on each. The website only shows 400 of these!

We were so thankful to have our family and friends in the desert as we started our married life! Thanks for being a part of our "Happily Ever After" =)

Rehearsal and Dinner!!!!

We had our rehearsal the day before the wedding! The actual rehearsal went really well considering we had a wedding party of 34 people!!!! However, we learned the next day that nothing we practiced would stick with all of our nerves!!! The dinner was at Las Casuelas, a mexican restaurant right by the church! It was such a fun time and the food was great!!! My childhood best friend, Matt, made us a video that he played of us growing up and than through our dating years. Our adorable nieces and nephews also made a video that they played...it was the most precious thing in the world! It was so fun having our family and friends together as we prepared for the next day! The bridal party all went out and saw the new Batman movie after...it was fun, but we were exhausted!!!! Here are a few pics....
